Features:
Simplified structure, reduced weight and size, surface profile neither a sphere or a circular, Used in applications to reduce beam distortion, Other dimensions are available in small and mass production quantities, Various AR Coatings are available for all these lenses.

Applications:
Photographic camera lens, viewfinder, television camera tube, zoom camera lens, satellite infrared telescope, video camera lens, Stage light, Spotlight, bar code scanners, laser diode collimation, OEM or R&D integration, Optical Measurement Systems, Projection Optics Systems, Imaging Optics Systems, Astronomical Opticsetc, etc.

A aspheric lens or asphere is a lens whose surfaces have a profile that is neither a portion of a sphere nor of a circular cylinder, but like paraboloid profile. Because asphperical lenses have different radius of curvature from surface center to edge, so aspherical lenses can eliminate spherical aberrations as well as the error which other spherical lenses can not eliminate, promote spotlight accuracy rate. At the same time, an aspherical lens has a simple construction, an aspherical lens can replace multiple lenses system, thereby reduce weight, size, and cost.

Aspherical lenses are effective in the elimination of not only spherical aberration, but also other forms of aberration generated by lenses. An aspherical lens is produced by exactly cutting away some parts of a spherical surface. A standard spherical lens has the undesirable property (called spherical aberration) of causing a stronger diffraction of light rays the further they are from the optical axis of the lens. Spherical aberration causes a loss of image sharpness. Properly designed aspherical lenses fully compensate spherical aberrations. Aspherical lenses are also used to compensate for distortion aberration.

Aspheric Lenses are used to eliminate spherical aberration in a range of applications, including bar code scanners, laser diode collimation, or OEM or R&D integration. Aspheric lenses utilize a single element design which helps minimize the number of lenses found in multi-lens optical assemblies. Said another way, unlike conventional lenses with a spherical front surface, aspheric lenses have a more complex front surface that gradually changes in curvature from the center of the lens out of the edge of the lens. This reduction in total element count not only helps decrease system size or weight, but also simplifies the assembly process. Integrating aspheres into an application such as focusing the output of a laser diode may not only decrease total cost, but may also outperform assemblies designed with traditional spherical optical lenses.
